Why Eastern Michigan Will Win
Does UMass have any semblance of a defense yet? The transfers didn’t come in for the D like they did for the O, and now there’s still not going to be enough of a pass rush to matter. The offensive side has a slew of new parts to try being more consistent, and they should need a little bit to get going.

Eastern Michigan REALLY needs a lot of time and help.
It managed to get to a bowl game last seasons but the offense will need a bit, and the defense that got ripped up late is all but starting over in the linebacking corps and other chunks. As long as the UMass running game can get going early, it should be able to control the clock.

Can either side stop the other?
This might be one of the better under-the-radar fun games with both offenses being far ahead of the defenses. It’ll be a ragged game, but there will be plenty of big plays, mood swings, and in the end, Eastern Michigan will get the one stop that UMass won’t.
This won’t be the 19-17 Eastern Michigan win of last year.
