Why Nevada Will Win

The defense quickly rose up and rocked in the first game under new head coach Jeff Choate. It held the high-powered SMU offense down until late, and it should keep on being aggressive and productive - especially against the run - against the Troy attack.

If the Wolf Pack can control the clock for over 36 minutes again, it should be able to hold on.

Why Troy Will Win

Nevada made a ton of mistakes. The 11 penalties were big, a special team blunder was bigger, and the team couldn’t close.

There might be a ton of new pieces to the Troy puzzle, but the linebacking corps should keep the Nevada backfield from taking off, and the offense has the receivers to crank up the passing game like SMU did late last week.
