Here's Part 2 of the 10 Best Predictions for Week 2. They're all favorites, and they're all sheer arrogance run amok.

More than ever, it seems like there's a grand divide between the top teams and everyone else. More money, more transfers, more differences, and in Week 2 some of the biggest are on display.

    - Week 2 Schedule, Predictions

    5. Tennessee Tech at Georgia

    Line: Georgia -54.5
    Pick: Tennessee Tech
    - Tennessee Tech at Georgia Game Preview & Prediction

This goes to my Georgia and Ohio State Are Better Than Everyone Else By A Mile thing, but in a different way.

I think Georgia is so good that it’ll put up 28 in the first quarter against Tennessee Tech, 17 more in the second quarter, and then just shut it down.

Oh, it’ll hang 52ish on the board, but 55 is too big of a number, and why? Kirby Smart doesn’t go full throttle on the FCSers.

48-7 on UT Martin last year. 33-0 on Samford in 2022. 56-7 on Charleston Southern in 2021, and 63-17 on Murray State in 2019.

Go lightly here - Georgia could put up 70 if it wanted to - but the last time the program won by more than 55 over an FCS team was 59-0 over newbie Coastal Carolina in 2011.

And then the other part of this …

    4. Western Michigan at Ohio State

    Line: Ohio State -37
    Pick: Ohio State
    - Western Michigan at Ohio State Game Preview & Prediction

This line actually came down. It was at 38.5, but you can get it at 37.

I’m sorry, but you’re going to have to get used to this for the next three months - no one is scoring on Ohio State. Akron got two field goals last week, and that’s about right.

Western Michigan might score a touchdown, but it’s not putting up more than 14 points on the Buckeyes. It only put up 14 on Wisconsin and that D is a freight train loaded with radioactive meh.

Like it did against Akron, the D might score, there could be a special teams touchdown, or this overloaded offense might just put up 40 and the defense will hold on late for the shutout.

Ohio State is just that good.

    3. Rhode Island at Minnesota

    Line: Minnesota -23.5
    Pick: Minnesota
    - Rhode Island at Minnesota Game Preview & Prediction

The FBS teams ANNIHILATED the FCS in Week 1. Like, by a gajillion points. Like, 60-1 in the 61 meetings. Like, by an average of 43.77 to 11.56, and only a few strange outliers - Abilene Christian taking Texas Tech to overtime - kept that from being way worse.

Now take the FBS team that’s really, really, really grouchy after a tough Week 1 loss - like Minnesota against North Carolina - and just grip it and rip it.

When it doubt, take the FBS team.

So with that in mind …

    2. Nicholls at LSU

    Line: LSU -47.5
    Pick: LSU
    - Nicholls at LSU Game Preview & Prediction

Again, just swing the bat and assume you’ll get on base.

Before the line came out I had this at around 62-3 Tigers. Same thing like the Minnesota-Rhode Island thing. REALLY grouchy team coming off a rough loss, angry coach, looking to prove a point … uh oh.

Under Brian Kelly, what did LSU do last year after starting out the season with a loss to Florida State? 72-10 against Grambling State. How about after losing to Florida State the year before? 65-17 over Southern.

    1. USF at Alabama

    Line: Alabama -31
    Pick: Alabama
    - USF at Alabama Game Preview & Prediction

I’m about to embark on a journey and, if you dare, you’re welcome to come with.

I’m about to crank up a belief that Alabama deserves a tasteful spot with Georgia and Ohio State in the penthouse of amazing teams.

It’s close, but it’s private elevator doesn’t quite go up to the top floor … yet. It might after this week.

USF is a good team. It’ll make noise in the American Athletic Conference, Alex Golesh is a whale of a head coach, he’s got playmakers, and Alabama is about to go silly on this bunch.

That 63-0 win over a WKU team that will at least play for the Conference USA was new Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer being nice - there were still ten minutes to go when Bama shut it down.

I don’t think this will be a total wipeout like that, but …

DeBoer’s Washington squad beat Boise State by 37 to start last year, followed that up with a 33-point win over Tulsa, a 34 point win over Michigan State - before the meltdown, and that was with a team with little to no defense.

It might be 31-0 at halftime.
