On Tuesday's episode of " The Joel Klatt Show ," college football analyst Joel Klatt mentioned that the Colorado Buffaloes are almost like a carbon copy of what they were a year ago regarding their pass protection of quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

One of the bigger concerns for the Buffs in the offseason was their ability to improve the offensive line to allow Sanders time to connect with his receivers. Unfortunately for Colorado, that improvement has yet to be seen as Shedeur Sanders has been sacked six times through two games this season after he led the nation last fall with 52.

Joel Klatt weighed in on the Buffaloes' continued struggles to protect the quarterback by stating that their offensive line has not gotten any better and looks to be the exact same as last season.

"They've got to figure out a better way to protect the quarterback," Klatt said. "The O-line is not any better. I thought that they were going to be better, and they're not any better. They're virtually the exact same offensive line. Not in terms of names, but in terms of play. This is a carbon copy of what we saw a year ago. Shedeur has, like, not even a second to read the defense. There are times that he holds the ball, but it's not often. He's just constantly under duress."

Klatt added that the Buffs' defense plays harder this season than they did a year ago, but the offense's uninspired play and inconsistency is the biggest area of concern moving forward.

"I will say this. Overall, is the team exactly the same? No," Klatt added. "The defense plays harder and plays better than they did a year ago. But the offense, man, the offensive plan is just so uninspired and totally unsustainable. Colorado's offense has to change, and it's got to become more inspired, or else this, what's happening, a static offense that puts a quarterback on a tee is totally unsustainable."

Colorado, who is reeling from a blowout 28-10 loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers, will look to rebound in Week 3 against their in-state rival Colorado State Rams. The clash with the Rams will occur from Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins, Colorado, on Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
