Why Northwestern State Will Win

South Alabama can’t come up with a third down stop.

North Texas and Ohio are fine offensively for Group of Five programs, but they rolled way too easily against the USA D. The Jaguars are allowing teams to convert 52% of their third down chances, and it only gets worse from there.

Northwestern State doesn’t crank up the passing yards, but it should be able to fire away at will. However …

Why South Alabama Will Win

South Alabama quarterback Gio Lopez didn’t play against Ohio after throwing for over 400 yards against North Texas, but sophomore Bishop Davenports was just fine.

He threw well against Ohio - it wasn’t his fault for the loss - and now, no matter who’s under center, the production will be there.

The Demons were destroyed b y the Tulsa offense for over 600 yards, and South Alabama should have the balance to go along with the explosion. So …
