Boston College vs Missouri Prediction, Game Preview, and Betting Lines

What more do you want out of these two to start the season?

Missouri has yet to give up a point. Yeah, beating Murray State and Buffalo isn’t a big deal, but still, 99-0 in two games is pretty good no matter what.

After this comes the start of the SEC season against Vanderbilt, and with UMass and Auburn coming up soon. The Tigers could be rolling if they win here.

Boston College has been wonderful. The Bill O’Brien era has kicked in hard with a stunning performance against Florida State to kick things off, and then last week the team stretches its legs with a 56-0 win over Duquesne.

Michigan State is up next, but getting by this will be hard enough.

    Why Boston College Will Win

The running game has been incredible.

The offensive front was supposed to be a strength early on, and it’s been just that and more with a brilliant performance against Florida State followed up by a 302-yard rushing day against Duquesne.

Missouri has been great so far, but it hasn’t faced anyone who can run the ball.

New year and new teams, but last season the Tigers lost to LSU when they allowed 274 rushing yards, struggled against Florida when they got run on, and overall, they were 3-2 when giving up 130 yards or more on the ground and were really, really close in the three wins.

    Why Missouri Will Win

No, the Mizzou defense hasn’t faced a running game like Boston College is bringing, but Boston College hasn’t dealt with an air attack like this.

It’s not like it needed a whole ton of time, but the first two paycheck games allowed Brady Cook and all of the offensive stars chances to get in synch.

The whole Eagle style has clicked in the first two games - win third downs on both sides of the ball, control the clock, dominate the tempo, and … the team hasn’t dealt with any adversity.

If Missouri can score right away and turn the defensive front loose, it could start to pull away a bit because …

Boston College vs Missouri: Who Will Win

It’ll be a different animal for Boston College as it will have to run and move the O because it has to, and not from a position of control or strength.

The Eagle lines will be good enough to hold up and keep this close on the road - there won’t be any intimidation factor - but the Tigers will rise up and keep the pressure on with its blanched attack.
