Ahead of the Wisconsin Badgers' Week 3 clash with the No. 4-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide, Badgers head coach Luke Fickell was interviewed by Fox Sports' sideline reporter Jenny Taft on Fox's "Big Noon Kickoff" about what would be the keys to pulling off an upset against the Tide.

In his response, Fickell mentioned that success would start from its protection on the offensive line and whether it can play a complete 60 minutes.

"Well, we gotta, it starts up front for us," Fickell said. "You know, I think we've gotta have some poise to be able to handle whatever comes at us. We gotta make this a 60-minute game, 60-plus minutes. And I think that's really important to us. I mean, our guys up front, in particular on the offensive line, have gotta do some controlling."

Fickell enters his second full year at Wisconsin after being hired before the 2022 Guaranteed Rate Bowl. Through his time with the Badgers, Fickell has a 10-6 record but has been able to modernize Wisconsin's recruiting trajectory to attract more skilled athletes.

The Badgers head coach continued by stating that for Wisconsin to come away victorious today, they would also need to generate sustained offensive drives and weather the storm against a high-powered Alabama offense. He mentioned that the team will need to fight back against adversity throughout the contest to make it a competitive game.

"We've gotta make sure we can maintain and create some drives and sustain some things like we have in the first few weeks," Fickell added. "And then we're gonna have to weather some of the storm. We're gonna have to take some body blows and deliver some body blows and make this a four-quarter-plus game."

The Week 3 clash between the Badgers and the Crimson Tide will occur Sept. 14 at noon ET from Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin. The game will be broadcast on Fox, with announcers Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt on the call, alongside Jenny Taft, who will be reporting from the sidelines.
