As the AP Top 25 poll for Week 4 was released on Sunday afternoon, the college football nation has a new program atop the rankings as the Texas Longhorns jumped from No. 3 to No. 1.

The Longhorns handled the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners 56-7 in Week 3 from Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, which saw quarterback Arch Manning dazzle for 223 yards and four touchdowns following Quinn Ewers leaving the game after suffering an injured abdomen.

With the impressive performance, the Longhorns were able to leap the Ohio State Buckeyes and Georgia Bulldogs, as Georgia escaped its Week 3 matchup against the Kentucky Wildcats while the Buckeyes were idle.

Georgia's offensive struggles in their 13-12 victory against the Wildcats may have been enough to convince voters to move the Bulldogs out of the top spot as they enter their Week 4 bye ahead of a Week 5 clash with the No. 4-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. The Bulldogs received 35-first place votes from the media this week.

As for Ohio State, who earned five first-place votes, the program will look to maintain momentum as they host the Marshall Thundering Herd from Ohio Stadium on Sept. 21 at noon ET on Fox.

Texas will likely hold on to the top spot for at least another week as the Longhorns play the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks on Sept. 21 at 7:00 p.m. ET from Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The game will be available on ESPN+ and SEC Network+.
