Miami vs Louisville Prediction, Game Preview, and Betting Lines

Is Miami really that good?
It needed a minor miracle of an officials' call to survive Virginia Tech, and it came up with an epic comeback - helped by another call - to get by Cal 39-38. So no game is a sure thing, but this might be the toughest matchup the rest of the way..
There's no Clemson to deal with, and missing SMU is great. Three of the next four games are on the road, but Louisville, Georgia Tech, and Syracuse are all dangerous.
Louisville has the talent and ability to be in the ACC title chase, but it needed a 24-20 win over Virginia last week to start getting the groove back.
The loss to Notre Dame was fine, but losing at home to SMU hurt. The next three games and four of the last five are on the road - that includes Clemson - but if the Cardinals are good enough to beat Miami, they're good enough to make a huge push.

Why Miami Will Win
Miami is taking on the role of being one of those teams.
It's not perfect, it almost gave away that Virginia Tech game and should've dropped the date with Cal, but Cam Ward and company find a way. Keep this close until late, and the Hurricane side will have the confidence to pul this off.
It starts by owning third downs. Miami is No. 1 in the nation at converting its third down chances - getting the job done 60% of the time - and the defense has been outstanding at getting off the field.
Miami gave up the ball three times against the Hokies, and stalled too much early against Cal. This isn't a consistent enough team over the last few games in the ACC.
Louisville has the quarterback in Tyler Shough who can keep up the pace, the defense is good enough on third downs to give Ward problems, and the plays behind the line will be there to stall the Cane backfield.
This is the game to turn the pass rush loose. It hasn't been as strong as last year's version, but it has the potential to come up with something special on national TV at home, but ...
Miami vs Louisville: Who Will Win
Keep assuming Miami will lose and keep getting burned.
It might be not be a perfect team, but it has the talent to outbomb its way through this. But Louisville is due to come up with a big day.
It's being played right away, the energy will rise as the game goes on, and this is when Jeff Brohm's team pulls off one of its better performances of the season on the lines, and Shough will (barely) outplay Ward.
