Forks Township looks for new ways to protect dwindling farmland
In an effort to save farmland in in fast-growing Forks Township, new housing developments should be built in tightly packed clusters, a recent study recommended. Forks Township has been working with consultant Environmental Planning and Design of Pittsburgh to develop a strategy to handle growth management, preserve open space and protect prime agricultural soil.
