A record breaking 110,905 excited fans filled Kyle Field on Saturday, June 15 to witness

George Strait back again. Catie Offerman opened the show, followed by Parker McCollum before the King took the stage. The all time attendance record was previously set at a Grateful Dead concert nearly 50 years ago. Not only did it break a countrywide, concert-wide, and genre-wide record like this, but also is the largest event to ever take place in the Texas A&M Aggies stadium.

Strait's upcoming album 'Cowboys and Dreamers' will release on September 6, making it the 31st career studio album for George. At 72 years old, and with a lifetime of the best country music, he is still showing no signs of slowing down. Just before the show he released two new singles 'MIA in MIA' and 'The Little Things,' -both from the forthcoming album.

Many celebrities themselves were found enjoying the show. Greg Abbott, the 48th governor of Texas, posted a picture of him and Strait after the show on his Instagram. Senator Ted Cruz also shared about the concert with a picture of him, his daughter and George.

George is dubbed 'the King of Country Music' for good reason, and is no stranger to breaking records. He has the most no.1 singles of any artist across all genres. For over 30 years now, his music has been no.1 at at least every year. With his illustrious career, Strait has the most RIAA-certified gold and platinum albums in the history of country music. He has sold more than 120 million records worldwide throughout his career. Strait holds the attendance record NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas as well.

The show isn't over, in fact, the 'Check Yes or No' singer still has several scheduled in 2024. On June 29 we will see him take the stage in Salt Lake City, Utah before heading to Detroit and Chicago in July. He is also planning on playing in Las Vegas in December.

We can expect to see Strait back in Texas very soon. As he told the crowd at the show, "Just invite me back and I'll come."
