Due to Hurrican Beryl, which impacted the entire state of Texas last week, plans for everyone were changed on a dime, including 2024 4-star wide receiver Kelshaun Johnson out of Hitchcock, Texas. However, with things finally returning to normal, Johnson will announce his collegiate plans next week.

On Saturday, Johnson posted on X that he will announce his decision on Tuesday, July 16, which will be available to stream on 247Sports’ YouTube, as he will choose between Texas , USC , Arkansas , Texas Tech, and Texas A&M after a long summer of official visits, including a visit to College Station on June 6.

Standing at 5-11 and 160 pounds, Johnson possesses impressive speed and route running skills with the ability to play on the outside or in the slot while serving as a kick/punt returner early in his college career.

With new offensive coordinator Collin Klein taking over play-calling duties this coming season, recruits, including Johnson, have been provided a clear vision of how they’ll fit in the Aggies offense. On the recruiting front, Texas A&M has only one wide receiver commit in the 2025 cycle, losing out on several recruits, including 4-star WR Taz Williams Jr.

According to 247Sports, Johnson is currently positioned as the 192nd-ranked prospect in the 2025 class, the 20th-ranked wide receiver, and the 27th-ranked prospect in Texas.
