Texas A&M commit Landon Rink ranked as the top defensive tackle prospect in Texas

Not all recruiting rankings are the same, and that’s good. No matter what many of us see with our own eyes when watching high school prospects, 247sports, Rivals, and On3 have their own opinions when ranking each prospect at every position.

In the 2025 recruiting class, the defensive line cycle is borderline elite, in my humble opinion. The prospect that constantly sticks out is a 4-star defensive lineman and Texas A&M commit, Landon Rink , who is heading into his senior season at Cy-Fair HS in Cypress (TX).

Within 247Sports’ 2025 DL rankings, Rink is currently the 30th-ranked defensive line prospect in the country. However, according to TDRecruits, Rink is ranked as the No. 1 prospect at this position in Texas, even surpassing the 5th-ranked DL in the class, current Texas commit Lance Jackson.

During his 2023 junior season, Rink’s performance was nothing short of exceptional. He was one of the most dominant high school players in the country, showcasing a diverse range of skills. He recorded an impressive 70 tackles, 15 sacks, 30 tackles for loss, five pass breakups, and two forced fumbles.

During his recent appearance at the annual OT7 competition, Rink was the top performer on the bench press and the squat rack, repping out 23 reps of 225 pounds on the bench and 24 reps of 315 pounds at the squat rack.
