James McCoy Taylor , a former contestant on Season 12 of The Bachelorette , was arrested on charges of assault causing bodily injury and unlawful restraint stemming from a past incident, a College Station Police Department public information officer confirmed to Page Six on Monday (August 5).

Taylor, 38, was detained at a bar in Brazos County, Texas, and taken into custody on warrants issued by the nearby Bryan Police Department. A mugshot released by the College Station Police Department showed Taylor smiling.

The former reality show contestant was released Sunday on an $8,000 surety bond. The Brazos County District Clerk's Office didn't provide any additional details, according to Page Six .

Taylor was previously arrested for driving while intoxicated and unlawful carrying of a weapon in September 2022, which resulted in serving five days in Brazos County Detention Center and paying a $500 fine, as well as an additional $585 in court fees, KBTX reported at the time. Taylor was also reportedly an attendee of the January 6, 2021, insurrection at the United States Capitol and "exiled" from Bachelor Nation, according to the show's creator Mike Fleiss .

Taylor finished in fifth place on Season 12 of The Bachelorette , which saw JoJo Fletcher choose her eventual husband, former Vanderbilt University quarterback Jordan Rodgers -- the estranged brother of four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers -- in 2016.
