Rockaway Pizzeria moving to Regent Square
Jul. 24—Rockaway Pizzeria is set to move from White Oak to Regent Square this fall. Corbin Waligura, manager of Rockaway Pizzeria, confirmed that the move will take place in October. Pirates could add to offense by dealing from pitching depth
The Pirates are scouring the trade market for ways to improve their lineup, and given the lack of pure sellers with available bats, one potential avenue the team has explored is trading from another area of its major league roster to augment the offense. General manager Ben Cherington discussed such a possibility on Sunday, via Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and he mentioned just Wednesday that the team has an abundance of pitching that could appeal to other clubs (also via Hiles).
Feds: Drug raid yields more than 100 kilos of cocaine plus heroin, fentanyl from McKeesport, Monroeville, Penn Hills
A federal drug investigation has led to charges for four men who police said were in possession of 116 kilograms of cocaine. That amount is equivalent to more than 250 pounds. Federal officials investigating drug activity in Western Pennsylvania executed sealed search warrants for homes and vehicles in McKeesport, Monroeville, Murrysville and Penn Hills on June 27.

Toll booths will soon be a thing of the past on the Pennsylvania Turnpike
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (CBS) -- Toll booths will soon be a thing of the past on the eastern and northeastern portions of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.Officials spoke more about the upcoming switch to "open road tolling" on July 24.The cashless, free-flowing mode of collecting tolls eliminates the need for separate toll lanes and booths. All you'll need to do is drive under a collecting gantry and have your EZ Pass mounted if you pay that way."You don't have to do anything different, your tolls will still be collected, sent to you in mail if you're toll-by-plate or deducted from your EZ Pass account," said Craig Shuey, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission's chief operating officer. The commission says the new approach will help keep traffic moving — and make the highway safer.Open road tolling will take effect on Jan. 5, 2025 on all parts of the turnpike east of Reading and on the Northeast Extension.PennDOT wants you to make sure you mount your EZ Pass tag in your vehicle and have all your information including your vehicle and credit card updated.Toll booths for the remainder of the PA Turnpike, from Reading and westward, will be eliminated in 2027.
