Juvenile suspect identified in multi-state bomb threats and swatting hoaxes
COLLIN COUNTY, Texas — A collaborative investigation has identified a juvenile suspect behind numerous bomb threats and swatting hoaxes across multiple states. The Collin County Sheriff's Office, Tyler Police Department, Smith County Sheriff's Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant in Smith County on June 29, successfully identifying the suspect, according to a press release from the Collin County Sheriff's Office. The investigation began in May when the suspect initiated a swatting incident at a residence in St. Paul, Texas.
Minor identified as suspect in bomb threats at Brookshire's, Tyler-area schools
A minor has been identified as the suspect authorities believe is responsible for bomb threats recently received at multiple Brookshire's locations and Tyler-area schools. Charges are pending after the Collin County Sheriff's Office, Tyler Police Department, Smith County Sheriff's Office and Federal Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant in Smith County on Sunday. The search led to the identification of a juvenile suspect authorities say was behind "numerous bomb threats and swatting hoaxes across multiple states," according to Collin County Sheriff Jim Skinner.
