COLLINS, Ga. (WSAV) – An accident involving a log truck and entrapment saw a collaboration of first responders, according to the Reidsville Fire Department (RDF).

The accident occurred south of Collins near Highway 23 and Alexander Rd.

In a Facebook post, the department explained that they along with Tattnall County Fire, Collins Fire Department, Roger’s State Prison Fire, Tattnall Co Emergency Medical Services and Georgia State Patrol, were dispatched to an overturned Log Truck with entrapment and a power pole being struck.

The driver was removed from the vehicle after a four-hour extraction process and transported via medical helicopter to a nearby trauma center.

One of the responders was transported to Optim Hospital for a heat-related injury.

Randy’s Wrecker Service and R&B Logging helped move the vehicle and logs, while Canoochee Electric was later called to the scene to repair power lines.
