COLLINSVILLE, Ill. – The famous side and dip combination is set to meet in Collinsville, just in a much more gigantic form than we’re used too.

The World’s Largest Catsup Bottle is welcoming the Giant Idaho Potato in an event that will provide a ton of fun and photo ops with the Sputty Buddy and the Tater team.

The meetup of the giants takes place on Saturday, July 6, at the Catsup Bottle, located on 800 South Morrison Avenue, next to Route 159, just south of downtown Collinsville, Ill.

The W.E. Caldwell Company first constructed the enormous 170-foot-tall Catsup Bottle in 1949 for the G.S. Suppliger Catsup bottling plant.

The Big Idaho Potato reached this size after growing for 7,000 years. The colossus potato weighs 4 tons, equivalent to 21,562 medium-sized potatoes. This jumbo potato is also capable of creating over a million french fries and 20,217 servings of mashed potatoes.

The Famous Big Idaho Potato makes this stop as a part of its ‘Famous Idaho Potato Tour’.

The giant potato will also make appearances at Schnucks, located on 5055 Arsenal Street, on July 3 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and at the America’s Birthday event in Downtown St. Louis on July 4.
