Brooklyn, IL – Two Hurt in Auto Accident on IL Rte 3 at Canal St
Brooklyn, IL (July 21, 2024) – A child and adult were hurt in a crash that closed down Illinois Route 3 for several hours on Friday afternoon in St. Clair County. A car and semi-truck crashed in Brooklyn near the area of Canal Street and the McKinley Bridge. The child and adult were airlifted from the scene. Illinois State Police also responded to the scene. However, they did not release any additional information regarding the crash or the severity of the child and adult’s injuries.

The collapse of a mine on June 26, 2024, in Gordon Moore Park, Alton, Illinois, has alarmed local officials and residents. The falling apart resulted in a large sinkhole in the park’s soccer fields. Valley Park Woman Drowns In Big River
A Valley Park woman drowned Sunday afternoon in St. Francois County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 40-year-old Melissa A. Hill of Valley Park, Mo., entered the water around 2:15 p.m. to help another individual in the water, upstream from St. Francois State Park on the Big River. Hill became unconscious and was found floating face down by bystanders, who recovered Hill and began life-saving measures, but were unsuccessful.
Clayton to get its 1st marijuana dispensary
CLAYTON, Mo. — Clayton is set to get its first marijuana dispensary, after the operator recently received approval from the city. With at least a half-dozen pharmacy break-ins in recent days around southern Illinois, investigators are looking at bringing in help from the feds to crack the case. On Tuesday of last week, the WellCreek Pharmacy in Bethalto was hit at about 2:30am. They only took drugs – the cash was left alone.
