WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The stars aligned for the Lyndon football program in 2023. After a successful 8-3 showing in 2022, the Tigers picked up transfer Tannel Heckel, one of the premiere athletes in all of Kansas. His move happened to coincide with the senior seasons of all-staters Kaedin Massey, Jalen Massey, and Casten Wirth. The result was a complete domination of the 8-man, Div. I rank. The Tigers scored at least 48 points in 11 of their 13 wins and held seven opponents to one touchdown or fewer, including the previous favorite, Wichita County, 34-6 in the state championship game.

Oakley, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The season opener for the Scott City Lady Beaver volleyball team once again took them to Oakley on Friday for a triangular with Oakley and Wallace County. Every match in the triangular would go to three sets. Scott City would win their first match over Wallace County 25-19, 16-25, 27-25 and fell to Oakley 25-16, 14-25, 25-17. Oakley defeated the Lady Wildcats 25-14, 23-25, 28-26 in the opening match of the triangular.
Tigers Knock Off No. 24 Ranked Rams in 2024 Season Opener
HAYS, Kan. – Fort Hays State opened the 2024 season on a good note with a 21-7 win over No. 24 ranked Angelo State at Lewis Field Stadium on Friday afternoon (Aug. 30) in a game postponed from the night before due to lightning. The Tigers claimed their first-ever win over a team from Texas and have now won back-to-back games against AFCA ranked opponents at Lewis Field Stadium. It was the first-ever meeting between the schools in football.
