    SF man admitted to theft after foot pursuit in Colma: police

    ( KRON ) – A suspect admitted to stealing after a short pursuit and was arrested, according to the Colma Police Department.

    Colma police officers responded to a business in the unit block of Colma Boulevard at 6:39 p.m. on July 14. As officers were conducting a follow-up investigation into a prior theft, the emergency exit alarm went off. The store's manager was informed a person had stolen multiple items and fled through the emergency exit.

    A pursuit ensued after police attempted to stop the suspect. According to Colma PD, the suspect surrendered and was detained at a nearby cemetery, according to a photo provided by Colma PD.

    The suspect was identified as 36-year-old San Francisco resident Dennis Palmer.

    Palmer admitted to stealing, police said. It was determined Palmer stole approximately $393.67 worth of merchandise.

    He was arrested for petty theft and resisting a police officer. Colma PD said he was given a citation for the charges and released on his promise to appear in court.
