Waterloo Welcomes New Family-Owned Steakhouse
A new restaurant is opening up very soon in Waterloo. Elena's Steakhouse & Bar is a family-owned restaurant with a menu that "showcases the finest quality and flavor." Located at 126 E Ridgeway Ave in Waterloo, this new business is run by the Sanchez family, according to the eatery's website.
Watermain Break in the 500 Block of Tenney Street July 22nd
Residents and businesses in the 500 block of Tenney Street area may experience rusty water and/or low water pressure due to a watermain break. It is unknown now if the water will be shut off and require a boil order. The City of Kewanee will post an update on their Facebook page once they have more information.

Kewanee Continues Recovery Efforts after Tornadoes Lat Week
The City of Kewanee continues to work on storm recovery from two tornadoes that struck a large part of Kewanee last week. There will be no landscape waste collection today, July 22, 2024. If your trash was not collected last week, and you need it emptied before your next collection day, call city hall at 309-852-2611. Trash and recycling collection resumes the normal schedule this week. If you live in the construction area near Central School, the city is collecting trash in this area before 6 AM. Today, July 22nd is an emergency burn day, and burn day rules apply. The city is not taking addresses for brush cleanup. The City of Kewanee is encouraging residents to take the brush to the old hospital property. The city will eventually collect brush at residential addresses, but they can’t guarantee when that will occur.
