Pekin’s first Pride Picnic goes perfectly
PEKIN – The Tazwell County seat was the site of its first Pride Picnic last weekend. Even with a little rain, everything went perfectly. Booths from local businesses and community organizations lined the bike path near the 4H Pavillion in Mineral Springs Park on Saturday, Aug. 17. Vendors included local businesses such as nuEra, Pekin Public Library, and High Vibes Stoneshop and non-profits such as Peoria Proud and PFLAG Peoria.

Medical waste scattered through Knoxville in Peoria
PEORIA (25News Now) - Peoria Public Works had their hands full Friday afternoon when trash from a medical facility was sprinkled throughout Knoxville Avenue. According to Peoria Public Works spokesperson Nick McMillion, at about noon, the department started receiving calls about the trash dispersed on Knoxville between War Memorial and Nebraska.
City: Clouded water seen in Sugar Creek came from paint spill
Clouded, white water seen in a portion of Sugar Creek running through Bloomington on Thursday was the byproduct of a paint spill, according to city officials. Multiple Bloomington agencies, including the fire department, public works and engineering, responded to an area between G.E. Road and Gill Street on Thursday evening following a report of a substance in Sugar Creek.
