CHATHAM, NJ -- The Chatham Township Committee has scheduled a special virtual meeting to discuss the design plans for the crumbling walls at the Colony Pool and approve the solicitation of bids for the repair work at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday night. As discussed in prior meetings, the Colony Pool side walls are crumbling and in need of replacement. The Committee requested the Township Engineer develop plans. A draft plan was circulated to the Committee last week, with updated plans provided today. Those plans will be discussed tonight so that we can move forward with the bid process and toward having the work completed in the fall. No decisions have been made at this time. This is a discussion to find the right answer for our community and our Colony members. STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 35-year-old man from Mariners Harbor who was reported missing. EDISON, NJ -The Edison Board of Education is investigating an incident involving an Assistant Principal of Edison High School and members of the Muslim Students Association (MSA). The New Jersey chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NJ) says Nicole Himmelstein threatened the student members for requesting a joint Ramadan celebration with neighboring schools.
