South Park Brewing now offering brews and spirits in OCC

(OLD COLORADO CITY, Colo.) — After months of remodeling and prepping their new space in Old Colorado City, South Park Brewing is now open and offering unique brews, distilled spirits, and tasty food options to the west side and beyond.

South Park Brewing announced in March that they would be relocating from their home of 10 years in Fairplay, south of Breckenridge, to Old Colorado City. South Park took over the space that once housed the Smiling Toad Brewery on Sheldon Avenue, and went to work remodeling and making the space their own.

Now, South Park Brewing is officially open for business!

And while locals may be excited to visit the newest addition to the west side brewery scene, no one is more excited about the launch in Colorado Springs than founders Paul Kemp and Megan Sebastian.

“We distributed down here [to Colorado Springs] for many years, and fell in love with the city,” said Sebastian. “It is gorgeous, the mountains are right there, the people are wonderful here.”

With plenty of indoor seating and an impressive outdoor patio, South Park Brewing offers a comfortable place to kick back with a beer or a cocktail, as the brewery also specializes in its own distilled spirits, and also own their food truck that offers a staple of menu items like burgers and chicken sandwiches.

“We have a food truck that we own, and not rotate out, so we always have the same cuisine of burgers, chicken sandwiches. Another really unique thing that we have, is that we also have a distillery,” explained Kemp. “So this location is both a distillery tasting room and a brewery tasting room, so it’s a great opportunity for people to try out our distilled products along with our beer products.”

The brewery and distillery is located at 2028 Sheldon Avenue, just northeast of Highway 24 and 21st Street. They are open from noon – 8 p.m. every day, and you can also find their beers distributed at liquor stores around town. Visit their website linked above to learn more about all they have to offer.
