Stepping into Alpenrose Vail feels like being whisked away to a charming ski village in the Alps. The cozy, alpine atmosphere is the perfect backdrop for indulging in some hearty German cuisine. I absolutely loved the potato soup and the spinach 'dumplings,' which were delightfully meaty and satisfying. The veal goulash was another standout, rich and flavorful, making it a memorable part of my dining experience here.
During my visits, I also had the pleasure of trying the crispy pork, also known as Oktoberfest haxn, which was juicy and packed with flavor. Pairing this with their giant pretzel, which was both crispy and moist, made for a perfect meal. Although the restaurant can get busy, leading to a slight delay in service, the quality of the food makes it worth the wait. For a unique experience, I tried their private dining in a gondola, enjoying a two-course meal that started with a giant pretzel followed by Swiss fondue. It was a delightful setting, though keep in mind to order everything you might need upfront as service can slow down once the food arrives.
Alpenrose Vail offers an authentic taste of Germany right in the heart of a bustling ski town. The portions are generous, and the setting is just lovely, especially if you can snag a window seat to watch the world go by. Whether you're coming in from the cold after a day on the slopes or just looking for a cozy spot to dine, this place is definitely worth a visit.
