Alexander Mountain Fire: Wildfire breaks out west of Loveland

Larimer County officials have announced they are working on a wildfire west of Sylvandale Ranch near Highway 34 near Loveland. They ask that you please avoid the area. The wildfire has been named the Alexander Mountain Fire.

Mandatory Evacuations ordered have been issued near Storm Mountain. The town of Drake to Dam Store along Highway 34. This also includes Storm Mountain and Palisade Mountain. This entire area needs to be evacuated immediately.

There was a voluntary evacuation in the area of Waltonia Road, Eden Valley to Sunrise Ranch, and Sylvan Dale to Ellis Ranch. But it has turned into a mandatory evacuation.

As of noon today, it was only 20% contained. Highway 34 into Estes Park is now closed.
