(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) announced on Friday, May 3, that phase one of its “Elevate COS,” a three-year project to modernize its concourse, is finished.

According to the COS website , the goals of the project are to increase sustainability and accessibility, improve amenities, and update aging infrastructure. These upgrades include new food and retail options, LED lighting, terrazzo flooring, charging stations, and bathroom upgrades, among other improvements.

The airport was built in 1994 and has not been updated since the public side of the airport was modernized after the 2018 terminal fire, and the post-security concourse has remained unchanged since the building was constructed.

In addition to modernizing the space, the redesign will bring the concourse in line with current ADA guidelines, making it more accessible to all travelers.
