(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (CMZoo) announced on Saturday, May 18, in a post on their Facebook page, that the public is invited to help choose names for their two baby Red-Necked Wallabies.

According to the post , CMZoo keepers have narrowed the choices to two options for each joey, both females. The zoo is asking followers to comment their favorite option on the zoo’s Facebook post by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22. The winning names will be announced the next day, Thursday, May 23.

Their mothers, Katt and Gidgee, are sisters and have been getting a lot of attention for the little heads peeking out of their pouches for the last few months.

According to CMZoo, Katt’s joey has darker facial features and looks similar to her mom. She is a confident and energetic explorer, often spotted zooming around the wallaby yard. Zoo fans can choose between the names Kitt and Yarra. Kitt matches with her mother’s name, and Yarra is inspired by a city in Australia, the wallaby’s natural habitat.

Gidgee’s baby loves to snuggle up in her mother’s pouch in amusing ways, sometimes with her tail and foot hanging out, and other times with both of her feet and her head poking out. One name choice for her is Acacia, a tree native to Australia that also matches her mother’s name, as Gidgee is another term for this tree. The other option is Yindi, meaning “sun” in one of the indigenous languages of Australia.
