(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is seeking additional information about possible victims after the recent arrest of a suspect accused of sexual assault on a child that happened near downtown Colorado Springs.

CSPD said on Thursday, May 16 at around 5:30 p.m. officers were called to a report of a sexual assault on a child in the 300 block of North Tejon Street between East Boulder Street and East Platte Avenue. According to police, the suspect identified as 24-year-old Deangelo Terry, allegedly approached a minor from behind and made “inappropriate contact” before he left the area.

On Friday, May 24, 2024, police took Terry into custody without incident. CSPD said the suspect was known to police after he was arrested for attempted sexual assault in February of 2023.

The investigation is ongoing and CSPD is asking the community for additional information.

“This includes any potential unreported incidents where a light-skinned black man, approximately 6’2”, 155 pounds, with shaved hair, dark facial hair, and brown eyes, approached women, made unwanted advances, or exposed himself in and around the downtown area of Colorado Springs,” wrote CSPD.

Anyone with information is asked to call CSPD at (719) 444-7000 or if you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers Tip Line at (719) 634-7867.
