Michael Allen is the incumbent, elected as the District Attorney (DA) in 2021, he has served in the DA’s Office since 2011. He is running on the strength of his experience and success, reporting that he has put away every murderer that he’s faced in court, including Letecia Stauch and the Club Q shooter. David Willson has lived in Colorado for 16 years and is running on a platform of his Christian faith. Since 2017, he has served as a court-appointed attorney, “representing parents whose children had been removed from their home by DHS in dependency and neglect cases.”

He previously served in the military as a JAG prosecutor and defense counsel and spent time serving at Army Space Command before retiring from the military. He pledges to take a more aggressive stance against crime if elected. You can read more on his website, here .

Whichever candidate wins the most votes after Tuesday’s election will go up against the Democrat candidate, Jeremy Dowell, in November. He has been “representing the best interests of kids in the juvenile justice system in the Colorado Springs area” since 2018. He believes that a “one-size-fits-all approach to justice does more harm than good,” and each case should be tried according to its unique circumstances. To learn more, check out his website here .
