Blue Angels set to appear at Pikes Peak Regional Airshow for first time

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KXRM) — The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will be flying at the Pikes Peak Regional Airshow for the first time in Colorado Springs history on Saturday, Aug. 17 and Sunday, Aug. 18, and tickets are selling fast.

In addition to the Blue Angels, several other performances will be featured, including Wings of Blue, the U.S. Air Force’s parachute team, a bomber parade, Bob Freeman High Energy Aerobatics, Franklin’s Flying Circus, and more, as well as several static displays of various aircraft.

General admission tickets are still available, but preferred seating and “Canteen Experience” tickets are sold out. Those interested in attending the show are encouraged to purchase tickets as soon as possible, as once tickets sell out online, there will be no opportunity to purchase them at the gate.

The airshow will be held at the U.S. Army’s A/DACG facility located at 7250 Getting Heights, just south of the Colorado Springs Airport. Directions and parking information can be found on the event’s website .

Gates open at 8:30 a.m., and the opening ceremony starts at 10:50 a.m., followed by about a dozen shows before the Blue Angels close the show at 2 p.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive early in order to avoid missing any of the show, as traffic is expected to be heavy.
