(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Fire Department (CSFD) is receiving a new piece of equipment this upcoming Fall.

On Wednesday, July 24, CSFD announced on Facebook a new fire apparatus would join their fleet and begin service in 2025. CSFD gave the public the chance to guess what the new addition would be, with the hint “think tall” and a few helpful pictures.

The fire department then revealed on Thursday morning, July 25, a sneak peek and the plans of what the new piece was: a mid-mount tower.

CSFD said the custom-built tower would be delivered late in the fall this year and will be in service by January 2025.

“We’re PUMPED to welcome Tower 1 to our fleet,” said CSFD on the Facebook post. “We’ll continue to share pictures of the progress as we get them.”

The piece is being built by Pierce Manufacturing, Inc. A company that focuses on building fire trucks and apparatus.
