Hezly Rivera, 16, impressed the U.S. gymnastics selection committee at the 2024 Olympic Trials this past weekend in Minnesota, earning her place as fifth and the youngest member of the team.

The 2024 Paris Olympics will feature exciting athletes across sports categories. Track and field, an already popular event, is introducing another reason to route for Team USA. Quincy Wilson, a 16-year-old track and field athlete, is competing as the youngest U.S. male track Olympian. Sha’Carri Richardson, the current front runner in 100m race, is a strong contender for gold. Richardson came in fourth place in the 200m trails over the weekend.

Two years ago USA Nordic Sport negotiated a partnership with the Norwegian Nordic Combined Federation to offer U.S. athletes the best training opportunities for the World Cup as well as in the lead up to the 2026 Olympics. Unfortunately, this partnership appears to have come to an sudden end as the necessary fundingraising goal of $150,000 could not be met by the agreed deadline. In April 2024, the Executive Committee and Sports Committee of USA Nordic Sports provided a directive to the ski jumping and Nordic combined disciplines outlining the necessity for each to engage in fundraising efforts to secure a minimum of $150,000 toward expenses for continued engagement of the Norwegian Federation for their respective sport.

The best freestyle athletes from around the world will gather in Engadin, Switzerland, for the 2025 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships from Mar. 18-30. Each country will nominate four athletes per gender, per discipline. Complete nominations will be made later this season; however, this year, the U.S. athletes had the opportunity to prequalify based on their standings from the 2023-24 season. According to prewritten criteria, ‘U.S. Ski & Snowboard will nominate the top one (1) U.S. athlete, respective of gender, ranked in the top three (3) on the 2025 FIS Base List.’
