Rapid City teen sentenced to prison for Red Lobster assault
RAPID CITY, S.D. — A Rapid City teenager has been sentenced to prison for assaulting a local couple during an attempted carjacking in December 2023. Jesse Walters, 18, was 17 when he and another juvenile attacked the couple in the parking lot of Red Lobster on Disk Drive. The woman was in her car while her husband collected their take-out order. Walters and his accomplice assaulted her, prompting her to run into the restaurant. When her husband returned, he was beaten with a baton. Both suspects were quickly apprehended, with one detained by a bystander.

Officials with the Sioux Falls Police Department are still investigating the shooting Sunday afternoon at Dunham Park, which left 29-year-old Joshau Allen dead and three others injured.
