Luncheon thanks military personnel, honors local business
Savannah Rapids Pavilion was decked out in red, white, and blue as 375 attended an annual luncheon to honor local active duty and retired military personnel. A highlight of the program was announcing the recipient of The Patriot Award. It was presented by Ehrin Fairey of Southeastern Residential and a Major in the Air Force Reserve, who said the recipient shows unwavering dedication and support to the military community. She explained the company helps more than 1,000 families each year with relocation services, while also supporting the annual Fort Eisenhower Christmas House.
Proposal calls for construction of nearly 60 townhomes near Blanchard Woods Park
Developers have submitted to Columbia County a final plat for a proposed neighborhood of townhomes near Blanchard Woods Park. The 21-acre property at 4874 Washington Rd., Evans, is on the southern side of the road between Washington's intersections with Hardy-McManus and Halali Farm roads. Augusta Transport and Land Clearing Inc. requested plat approval.

A Columbia County developer is planning a rural home neighborhood near Thurmond Lake with each lot covering several acres. Red Rock Land Development, affiliated with Ivey Residential, submitted plans recently to Columbia County showing Rabbit Run Farms, a proposed 125-acre development off Cobbham Road, just east of the county’s tiny Winfield community.
