Free Crumbl cookies will be given to customers who celebrate the dessert chain's newest location in Columbia County. The store officially opens at 8 a.m. July 19 at 285 Meridian Dr., Suite 6B, in Grovetown. It's in Gateway Plaza, off Horizon South Parkway and across from the larger Gateway commercial cluster north of the city limits.
Storms take down trees, knock out power across CSRA
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - An overnight thunderstorm knocked down trees and brought power outages early Tuesday across the CSRA. The National Weather Service said the storm was a microburst. A microburst is column of fast-moving sinking air that can cause destruction as the wind hits the ground and spreads in all directions.

A Columbia County golf community, with its 18-hole golf course closed, is pivoting toward transforming its pool area into its No. 1 amenity. The Jones Creek Homeowners Association in Evans is asking Columbia County to grant new buffer and setback standards when it demolishes and rebuilds a pool house that residents say has become too small and isn’t up to code.
