Duo arrested on felony drug charges in Columbia County

TAGHKANIC, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Two people have been arrested after they were allegedly found with a large amount of drugs, said New York State Police. Krista Chadwell, 37, and Jerome Grandson, 36, both of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, were arrested on July 2.

Troopers stopped a car on the Taconic State Parkway around 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday for traffic violations. They then reportedly found Chadwell and Grandson in the car with about 28.4 grams of cocaine, 9.1 grams of heroin, and over $2,300.

Charges for both

• Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (felony)
• Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell (felony)
• Fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (felony)
• Tampering with physical evidence (felony)
• Second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor)

Chadwell and Grandson were arraigned in town of Claverack Court and released. they are set to appear in Taghkanic Court at a later date.
