We're five weeks into the Oregon high school football season, and it's never too early to think about the playoffs.

Here, we take a look at which teams are currently in position to make the postseason if the season were to end today using the playoff qualifications outlined by the OSAA.

Class 6A is broken into two brackets once again this year, but with a bit of a different look and new names. The top bracket is now the 6A open state tournament and will consistent of 12 teams. Each of the six league winners get in along with the next six highest ranked squads.

Sixteen teams will head to the 6A state tournament, which is the same for 5A, 4A, 3A and 2A. Class 1A 8-man and 6-man will have 12-team tournaments.

The last Friday of the season is Nov. 1 and the first round of the state tournaments begin Nov. 8.

For this exercise, league ties were broken first with head-to-head competition, then OSAA rankings (plus from a few judgement calls from time to time). Numbers next to league names indicate the amount of autobids they receive and the number next to at-large is how many teams make it that way.

Here's the latest projection of what the tournament fields look like for the 6A-1A 6-man football season.
