Former Manos Diner Site Could Become Dollar General
ELMIRA HEIGHTS, NY (WENY) -- A former diner could soon be torn down to make way for a brand new Dollar General in Elmira Heights. The former Manos Diner is on the agenda for the Chemung County Planning Board on July 25th. A Pennsylvania-based developer is requesting site plan approval to demolish the diner and parking lot at 2048 Pennsylvania Avenue. They would then build a 12,000 square foot Dollar General store.

We all knew this was coming, Notre Dame football head coach Marcus Freeman has thrown out another first pitch at a Major League Baseball game. This time it came in New York, as the Yankees invited the Irish leader along with multiple players out for the event. Although this is the new version of their historic stadium, it still has that baseball feel. Unfortunately for Freeman, the atmosphere didn’t quite translate into a strike, as the throw went a bit high and to the left. The main reason why he was invited was to create some hype around the Shamrock Series game against Navy that will be played in that same venue. Towanda, Pa. — State police in Towanda found methamphetamine, marijuana, and a gun inside a vehicle being driven by a Rome woman.
