    Columbia area spring sports Week 8 top performers: Marleigh McWilliams throws 17 strikeouts

    It's Week 8 of the high school spring season. Here are the top performers for high school baseball, softball and soccer in the Columbia area.

    WEDNESDAY

    Baseball

    Caleb King, Independence: King was 1-for-3 with a double, RBI and two runs in a 7-1 win over Centennial.

    Caleb Carpenter, Independence: Carpenter pitched a complete game, striking out seven while allowing four hits and no earned runs.

    Aiden Britton, Summit: Britton went 1-for-3 with a double, run and stolen base in a 5-4 loss to Franklin.

    Ben Bawcum, Summit: Bawcum was 1-for-4 with a double and RBI.

    Softball

    Piper Johnson, Independence: Johnson was 2-for-3 with a double and a run in a 5-1 loss to Page.

    Cambrea Hanson, Loretto: Hanson was 1-for-3 with a double and RBI in a 6-1 loss to Summertown.

    Addie Pfeiffer, Spring Hill: Pfeiffer was 1-for-3 with a double in a 7-0 loss.

    TUESDAY

    Baseball

    Konner Bowden, Columbia Central: Bowden was 2-for-3 with a double and three stolen bases in a 5-2 win.

    Lane Sharp, Columbia Central: Sharp pitched six innings, striking out 12 batters while allowing two hits and no earned runs.

    Matthew Thomas, Columbia Central: Thomas went 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs.

    Cash Money, Independence: Money was 1-for-1 with a double and RBI in an 8-2 loss to Centennial.

    Carter Cumming, Independence: Cumming went 1-for-2 with a double and a run.

    TJ Gobble, Lawrence County: Gobble was 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, five RBIs and three total runs in a 17-0 win.

    Alex Bedford, Lawrence County: Bedford was 1-for-1 with a double, two RBIs and three runs.

    Kole Shultz, Lawrence County: Shultz went 1-for-2 with a double, a run and three RBIs.

    Kasen Smith, Lawrence County: Smith was 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs.

    Gavin Schramm, Spring Hill: Schramm pitched a complete game, striking out eight batters while allowing two hits and no earned runs in a 7-1 win.

    Clay Robinson, Spring Hill: Robinson was 2-for-2 with a run and three RBIs.

    Davin Roush, Summit: Roush struck out 13 batters in 6.2 innings pitched, allowing three hits and no earned runs in a 2-1 win over Franklin.

    Brennan Targgart, Zion Christian: Targgart was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI in a 17-4 loss.

    Caleb Rutledge, Zion Christian: Rutledge went 1-for-4 with a double and a run.

    Softball

    Kaitlyn Cathey, Columbia Academy: Cathey was 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, a run and two RBIs in a 9-4 win.

    Emmy McAdams, Columbia Academy: McAdams went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBIs and a stolen base in a 9-4 win.

    MJ Harakas, Columbia Academy: Harakas was 4-for-4 with two doubles and five runs in a 24-0 win.

    Anna Brewer, Columbia Academy: Brewer was 3-for-5 with a double, five runs, five RBIs and a stolen base in a 24-0 win.

    Kinslee Wilhelm, Columbia Academy: Wilhelm went 2-for-4 with a double, three runs and four RBIs.

    Saviya Morgan, Columbia Central: Morgan was 1-for-2 with a run, RBI and stolen base in a 3-2 win over Coffee County.

    Phynlee Keeling, Culleoka: Keeling went 3-for-3 with a double, run and stolen base in a 13-3 loss. She also pitched five innings, striking out six while allowing five hits and no earned runs.

    Aubry Ezell, Loretto: Ezell was 3-for-3 with a double, RBI, three runs and three stolen bases in a 15-6 win. She was also 3-for-4 with a run and stolen base in a 9-3 loss.

    Mallory Corbin, Loretto: Corbin was 2-for-3 with four RBIs and two runs.

    Cambrea Hanson, Loretto: Hanson went 1-for-3 with a double, run and RBI.

    Ava Shrader, Richland: Shrader was 3-for-5 with a triple, two doubles, two runs and four RBIs in a 15-2 win over Santa Fe. Shrader also pitched one inning, allowing no hits.

    Bailey Blair, Richland: Blair went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs and two RBIs.

    Mary Katherine Butler, Richland: Butler was 1-for-4 with a triple, run and RBI.

    Hailey Lippert, Spring Hill: Lippert was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two RBIs and an additional run in a 13-5 loss.

    Gracie Boehms, Spring Hill: Boehms went 2-for-5 with a double, run and RBI.

    Lilly Yahya, Spring Hill: Yahya was 1-for-4 with a triple and a run.

    Tarek Scherr, Summit: Scherr was 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple and five RBIs in an 18-1 win over Brentwood.

    Ashlyn Easley, Summit: Easley went 3-for-4 with a triple, three RBIs, two runs and two stolen bases.

    Lakyn Canada, Summit: Canada was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and four RBIs.

    Saniya Hunter, Summit: Hunter went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI.

    Marleigh McWilliams, Zion Christian: McWilliams pitched a complete game, striking out 17 batters while allowing three hits and one earned run in a 9-1 win. She was also 1-for-4 with a double and a run.

    Leighla Rains, Zion Christian: Rains went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBIs and a stolen base.

    Elizabeth Wood, Zion Christian: Wood was 2-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and a stolen base.

    Ashleia Coble, Zion Christian: Coble was 1-for-3 with a double and a run.

    Soccer

    Benton Wall, Columbia Central: Wall had a goal and an assist in a 4-2 win over Shelbyville Central.

    Emmitt Foretich, Independence: Foretich had four goals in a 5-0 win over Summit.

    Hayden Smith, Independence: Smith had three assists in a win over Summit.

    MONDAY

    Baseball

    Will Rhodes, Columbia Academy: Rhodes was 2-for-2 with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs in a 22-2 win.

    Andy Reed, Columbia Academy: Reed went 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and five RBIs.

    Gunner Skelton, Columbia Academy: Skelton went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs, two RBIs and two stolen bases.

    Jackson Lee, Columbia Academy: Lee pitched 3.2 innings, striking out nine batters while allowing one hit and no earned runs.

    Lane Sharp, Columbia Central: Sharp was 1-for-3 with a home run and RBI in a 7-5 win over Coffee County.

    Jack Beck, Columbia Central: Beck went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs.

    Konner Bowden, Columbia Central: Bowden was 2-for-5 with a triple and two runs.

    Payton Miller, Independence: Miller was 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBIs.

    Truitt Kidd, Lawrence County: Kidd went 1-for-3 with a double in a 1-0 win over Franklin County.

    Kasen Smith, Lawrence County: Smith pitched a complete game, striking out six batters while allowing four hits and no runs.

    Maddox Rickvalsky, Summit: Rickvalsky went 2-for-4 with a double, three runs and two RBIs in a 14-4 win over Franklin.

    Zach Southerland, Summit: Southerland was 1-for-5 with a triple, run and two RBIs.

    Brady Woodard, Summit: Woodard struck out 10 batters in five innings, allowing three hits and four earned runs in a 14-4 win.

    Brennan Targgart, Zion Christian: Targgart was 2-for-4 with a home run and RBI in an 8-5 win.

    Christian Huntzinger, Zion Christian: Huntzinger struck out 14 batters in seven innings pitched, allowing five hits and three earned runs in an 8-5 win.

    Jack Handley, Zion Christian: Handley was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run.

    Softball

    Saviya Morgan, Columbia Central: Morgan was 4-for-5 with a double, two runs and two stolen bases in an 8-1 win.

    Bailey Lovell, Columbia Central: Lovell pitched a complete game, striking out nine batters while allowing six hits and no earned runs. Lovell was also 1-for-5 with a double and RBI.

    Gabby Bolton, Columbia Central: Bolton went 1-for-4 with a triple, run, RBI and stolen base.

    Piper Johnson, Independence: Johnson was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs in an 11-4 win.

    Reagan Maxon, Independence: Maxon went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs.

    Mallory Corbin, Loretto: Corbin pitched seven innings, striking out 12 batters while allowing four hits and one earned run as Loretto beat Lewis County 4-3 in extra innings.

    Jenny Clifton, Loretto: Clifton was 1-for-5 with a double and RBI.

    Mary Katherine Butler, Richland: Butler was 1-for-2 with a home run and four RBIs in a 15-0 win over Santa Fe. Butler was also 3-for-3 with a home run, four RBIs, a stolen base and an additional run in a 15-0 win over Fayetteville City.

    Caroline Cheek, Richland: Cheek was 2-for-3 with two doubles, a run and RBI. She also went 2-for-2 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI in Richland's second win of the night.

    Ava Shrader, Richland: Shrader pitched a no-hitter, striking out seven batters across four innings in a 15-0 win over Santa Fe. She also pitched a second no-hitter in a 15-0 win over Fayetteville City, striking out seven batters in three innings.

    Callie Hasting, Richland: Hasting was 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs in a 15-0 win over Fayetteville City.

    Preslee Crabtree, Richland: Crabtree went 1-for-3 with a triple, two runs and an RBI in a 15-0 win over Santa Fe.

    Lily Kovach, Spring Hill: Kovach pitched two innings, allowing one hit and no runs while striking out two batters in a 3-1 win.

    Callie Tuck, Spring Hill: Tuck went 3-for-4 with a double, run, RBI and stolen base in a 9-6 loss.

    Hailey Lippert, Spring Hill: Lippert was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in a 9-6 loss.

    Audrey Cathey, Summit: Cathey went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs in a 6-4 loss to Ravenwood.

    Tarek Scherr, Summit: Scherr was 1-for-2 with a run and stolen base.
