This Mother's Day weekend get some last-minute gift shopping done at The Factory, take the field for a game of kickball, classic cars and "Shrek" in Mt. Pleasant.
1. Second Saturday at The Factory
Take Mom out for a day of shopping at The Factory at Columbia, 101 N. James M. Campbell Blvd., for this month's Second Saturday bazaar.
Second Saturday will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and feature a plethora of vendors, artisans and pop-up shops. And this is in addition to the variety of unique businesses and eateries The Factory has to offer.
Live music will include Cave Street Band. You might even take home a new furry family member at the event's Freedom Journey Dog Adoption.

2. Family Fun Kickball at Ridley Complex
It's a childhood tradition of which legends were made on the playground field, where some of grade school's greatest battles were fought and won.
Dramatics aside, kickball remains a staple for all ages. Columbia Parks and Recreation invites the community for a family-friendly game this weekend at Ridley Sports Complex, 6148 Trotwood Ave.
Family Fun Kickball "kicks off" at 3 p.m. Saturday and will run through 6 p.m.
Contestants must register by contacting Parks and Rec at (931) 981-5512 or by scanning the event's QR code.
3. Cruisin' the Co-op in May
Car enthusiasts will rev their engines for another fun Cruisin' the Co-op event this Friday.
Cruisin' the Co-op's May event will take place from 5-8 p.m. at the United Farm & Home Co-op, 975 Riverview Lane.
The event is free for all ages and will include an afternoon of classic cars, food trucks, live entertainment and more.
4. 'Shrek: The Musical' in Mt. Pleasant
Everyone's favorite big green troll takes the stage in Mt. Pleasant this weekend along with his colorful cast of fantasy characters, complete with a few catchy songs.
The MP3 Players at The Mount debuted "Shrek: The Musical" at Mt. Pleasant Middle School, 410 Gray Lane in Mt. Pleasant, earlier this week, with two additional performances this weekend.
Showtimes will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday and a matinee at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Tickets are $5 and are available at www.VancoEvents.com or at the door.
5. Live entertainment
November Blue will perform at McCreary's Irish Pub & Eatery, 814 S. Main St., starting at 7 p.m. Friday.
2 Way Mirror will perform at The Tilted Mule, 102 Depot St., starting at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Tim Turner Band will perform at McCreary's Irish Pub & Eatery, 814 S. Main St., starting at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Hammbone will perform at The Boondox, 3543 Highway 431, starting at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Rubik's Groove will perform at Fozzy's Bar & Grill, 150 Stephen P. Yokich Parkway in Spring Hill, starting at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Kayleigh Mathews will perform at Puckett's in downtown Columbia starting at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Amber Falls Winery and Cellars, 794 Ridgetop Road, will host Music on The Ridge from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, featuring live music from The Cliftons . Sober Up Soul Food truck will also be serving up food from 1-5 p.m.
