Columbians craving a taste of Ethiopia now have a place to embrace with the official opening of Mahi's Ethiopian Kitchen in Alley A.

The restaurant, which grew out of the successful CoMo Cooks incubator on the Business Loop, teased its coming last month. Facebook posts both from Mahi's and The District celebrated its opening a few days ago. Mahi's will be open from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday at 905 Alley A, No. 101, the former site of Big Mama Chim's Noodle House.

"Thanks for making our soft opening a success! We are thrilled with how today turned out, and we couldn’t have done it without your support. Cheers to our amazing community ... for being part of this journey!" a post from Mahi's read .

The menu ranges from enticing combo dishes — the Vegetarian Combo, Ethiopian Sample Platter, Federation Combo and Meat Combos — to a variety of stews, rice and pasta dishes, and an extensive set of vegan offerings.

"We have simple crowd-favorites on the menu — but we do them well," their website reads.

Mahi's also serves Ethiopian coffee and tea.
