    VOTE: Boone County high school Athlete of the Week Sep. 30-Oct. 5

    Charlotte Canote was named last week’s Boone County high school Athlete of the Week. Now, its time to vote for the top athlete for Sep. 30-Oct. 5. Voting will be open until Thursday, Oct. 10 at 11:59 p.m.

    Here’s this weeks nominees : Amali Noel Ramesh, Addie Morris, Aliyah Simmons, Andrew Ludwig, Austin Becvar, Avery Hazelrigg, Bredun Bursey, Brian Burns, Brian Kitch, Brock Camp, Charles Robinson, Charlotte Canote, Colin Jagger, Emma Baumstark, Garrett Essner, Gracie Britton, Hudson Talley, Issy Ryden, Izzie Twenter-Savvenas, Isabella Trim, Jayce Troth, Jenna Lin, Jackie Stidham, Jaylynn Brown, Josey Whitaker, Julia Volkart, Kayla Perrone, Kaylin Patton, Lillian Hirner, Lindsey Burbridge, Majorie Muller, Mason Shearer, Montana Strobel, Naomi DeMuth, Olivia Beucke, Poppy Spry, Prathyankara Premkumar, Samuel Winarski, Sean Burns, Ryler Nichols.

    Boone County high school Athlete of the Week: Sep. 30-Oct. 5.

    Baumstark placed third for Rock Bridge girls golf at the Central Missouri Activities Conference Tournament at L.A Nickell Golf Course in Columbia. She shot an 87 as Rock Bridge placed second behind Helias with a score of 366.

    Becvar collected a hat trick for Tolton boys soccer. The Trailblazers defeated the Missouri Military Academy establishing the teams first two-game win streak since early September.

    Beucke, Lin, Noel Ramesh and Premkumar won their singles and double matches against Hickman. Rock Bridge girls tennis defeated the Kewpies 9-0. The win moved the Bruins to 15-0, a day before taking down Jefferson City 9-0.

    Britton set the Southern Boone softball single season home run record with her 13th of the year. She went 6-for-8 with two home runs against Mexico and Palmyra. She also set the single-season hits record with 51.

    Brown excelled for Centralia softball as the Panthers went undefeated over the past week. In a 13-0 win over Clark County, Brown struck out 18 batters while allowing just three hits over 7 innings. The Panthers went undefeated in the Centralia Invitational on Saturday. In the teams 4-2 victory over Hallsville in the championship game, Brown struck out 16 over seven while allowing two hits.

    Bursey and Camp once again came up huge for Hickman football. The Kewpies defeated Jefferson City 49-35 at home. Bursey tossed for 220 yards and three scores while rushing for three more. On six receptions, Camp tallied 140 yards to go along with two scores.

    Canote , last weeks Athlete of the Week, shot a 95 for Harrisburg girls golf winning the Central State 8 Conference championship. Burbridge finished in third place while Ryden came in fifth. Spry placed eighth while Twenter-Savvenas came in tenth.

    DeMuth, Hirner, Nichols and Stidham gave Harrisburg girls cross country a first place finish at the Calvary Lutheran Invite. Stidham was the race champion, Hirner came in fifth, Nichols placed sixth while DeMuth finished ninth. Whitaker set a new personal record at the Camdenton Invite moving her to second place all-time in Harrisburg cross country history.

    Essner helped keep Rock Bridge football undefeated in the CMAC with a game winning score late in the fourth quarter against Camdenton. Essner finished the night with five receptions for 101 yards and two scores in the Bruins 35-30 victory.

    Hazelrigg, Muller and Perrone all helped Tolton girls cross country team to a first place finish at the North Callaway Cross Country Invite with a score of 29. Muller came in second ahead of Perrone who placed fourth. Hazelrigg placed tenth for the Trailblazers.

    Jagger, Ludwig and Winarski all set personal best for Tolton boys cross country team. Ludwig finished with a time of 21:04, Jagger with a time of 22:23 and Winarski with 21:14.

    Kitch, Brian Burns and Sean Burns all were key in Southern Boone’s boys cross country’s first place finish at the Moberly Cross Country Invite. Brian Burns finished first out of 105 runners with a score of 17:15.05 while Sean Burns came in second at 17:15.13. Kitch placed seventh with a time of 18:24.02.

    Morris , MSHAA’s all-time home run leader, collected three home runs in a 15-0 victory over Staley. It was a part of 32 runs scored by the Bruins in two games as they also defeated Central (St. Joseph) 17-4.

    Patton and Volkart placed in the top 10 for Southern Boone girls cross country at the Moberly Cross Country Invite. Patton placed second with a time of 21:37.61 while Volkart came in seventh with a time of 23:07.09.

    Robinson scored three times for Centralia on Friday night. The Panthers dominated Highland on both sides of the ball leading to a 80-26 Homecoming victory.

    Shearer, Talley and Troth all made big plays for Southern Boone football in its 39-15 win over Eldon. Shearer threw for a pair of scores while Talley and Troth tallied three of the Eagles five defensive interceptions.

    Simmons placed second for Hickman girls golf at the CMAC Golf Tournament. She shot an 85 as the Kewpies placed sixth.

    Strobel and Trim were key in Tolton softball’s 12-2 victory over Booneville. She went 3-4 with a pair of RBIs. Trim struck out nine in four scoreless innings.
