Central Missouri Honor Flight will be flying 95 veterans to the nation’s capital for Mission 68. These veterans will be given the trip to Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, July 9.

The passenger list includes 85 Vietnam veteran, nine Korean War veterans, as well as one veteran who served in World War II. All 95 veterans are deserving of their honor flight to see the memorials dedicated to their military service-and to have the opportunity for long-awaited closure.

All honor flight heroes will enjoy a one-day tour of the WWII Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Battle of Iwo Jima Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery. At the Tomb of the Unknowns, honor flight veterans are quietly and respectfully acknowledged during the Changing of the Guard.

CMHF’s 68th mission departs Columbia at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, and returns at 9:45 p.m. that night at the Columbia Courtyard by Marriott. Traveling with them will be a medical team as well as guardians who assist veterans with wheelchairs, walkers, oxygen, and companionship on the flight.

Honor flights are provided at no cost to the veterans.
