Since opening its new location last month, the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Missouri is able to serve more families, but that means they’re in need of more community support.

The facility recently relocated to the corner of College and Stadium in Columbia, near the University of Missouri Hospital. Senior Director of Family Services Amanda Reynolds says the new facility allows them to support 24 families at a time, six more than the previous location’s capacity.

Reynolds adds that part of creating the environment includes meals cooked on site by volunteers.

Reynolds details the pantry items most in need.

Families who have children being treated at University Hospital are eligible for a referral to stay at the Ronald McDonald House, provided they live outside of Boone County. Reynolds says that the facility can accept donations during regular office hours, Mondays through Fridays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additional ways to support the facility are listed on their website .
