Prisma Health has broken ground on a new multi-specialty ambulatory care center in Columbia.

Northeast Columbia Medical Park will bring comprehensive outpatient care closer to patients in northeast Columbia, including Blythewood, Winnsboro, Elgin and the surrounding areas, according to a news release from McMillan Pazdan Smith , architect on the project.

The 135,000-square-foot center includes primary and specialty care, physical therapy and rehabilitation, imaging, retail pharmacy, lab and outpatient surgery, the release stated.

The 15-acre site is located at 1120 Robert Branch Parkway in the Killians Crossing development. Prisma Health expects the facility to open in fall 2025.

“The opening of the Northeast Columbia Medical Park represents a significant milestone in expanding access to outpatient services, enabling us to deliver the same high-quality care in a more convenient and cost-effective manner,” Clarence, Sevillian, Prisma Health’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, said in a Prisma news release.

    • An outpatient retail pharmacy for easier access to medication for its patients and the community.

The project represents an investment of $128 million and is expected to create over 250 jobs, contributing significantly to the economic growth of the Midlands, according to the release.

“As one of the fastest-growing states in the nation, South Carolina is experiencing an increased demand for healthcare services,” said Anthony Jackson, president of Prisma Health Baptist Hospital and vice president of external affairs, in the release. “The opening of the Northeast Columbia Medical Park underscores our dedication to meeting this demand while upholding the highest standards of care.
