Hussey Gay Bell CEO & Chairman, Mr. G. Holmes Bell, IV, PE, announces the appointment of Travis Basnett, PE, to Principal with new duties extending to executive strategy development and execution, client management, and market development, continuing the firm’s longstanding commitment to its clients throughout the Carolinas.

Mr. Basnett joined the firm in 2022 and was promoted to Managing Director of the Columbia operations in 2023. With 14 years of experience, he specializes in the design of industrial, governmental and commercial projects, with emphasis in planning and design for economic development. Notable projects include the E. & J. Gallo Winery Manufacturing and Bottling Plant, Jushi USA Fiberglass Manufacturing Plant, Husqvarna Manufacturing and Distribution Center, Lexington County Amazon Fulfillment Center and Prestage Farms Processing Facility.

Mr. Basnett holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of South Carolina and is a Registered Professional Engineer in South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina. He is also a graduate of Leadership Columbia.
