The South Carolina Gamecocks landed one of the country’s top long snappers back in June when Kyler Farrow announced he would play his college football in Columbia

Speaking with GamecockCentral.com after his commitment, the Farrow said that the process that led him to Shane Beamer’s program began back during spring ball.

“A ton of coaches were calling me, and didn’t really know who truly had interest in me, and I didn’t really know where I wanted to go yet,” the Wisconsin product explained. “Then Coach (Joe) DeCamillis called me and talked to me. He watched my film and stuff and really liked me.”

Ranked by Kohl’s as the fourth-best snapping prospect in the country for the 2025 class, Farrow drew interest along the way from Air Force and Wisconsin, among others. He took an interesting, direct approach when speaking with coaches to find the best fit for him.

“I was asking him, do you truly have interest? I have a lot of different places I could go. And he’s like, I truly have interest. So I knew that was the place I wanted to visit in the summer while I was making my camp schedule.”

The trip to South Carolina was toward the end of that summer slate, and Farrow ended up being blown away by what he saw out of the program in Columbia. The day began with a workout and ended with a tour.

“Every single person I met was awesome. I just knew it was the place after the visit. A lot of the other visits, it was a quick training, then let you go. This was the whole day, talking to Coach Beamer, talking to Coach DeCamillis, eating lunch, talking to the tight ends coach.” The strength staff was awesome, the nutritionist, just meeting everybody was awesome.”

In its scouting report, Kohl’s gave some high praise to this senior’s skill set.

“Farrow has solidified himself as one of the most explosive and talented snappers in America. At the Kohl’s Midwest Showcase, he was ripping the ball through the target with clean rotation,” the organization said.

“I’m really accurate,” Farrow added during his conversation with GamecockCentral.com. “I work a lot on my accuracy, and I believe I have the fastest snap time in my class. That’s important. I have good football knowledge. I’ve been playing football my whole life. I was quarterback. I play tight end now. I played linebacker. I’m tough, I’m athletic, I’m strong. I’m very coachable.”

Farrow plans on graduating high school early and will enroll in Columbia in January 2025. He will have an opportunity to compete for the snapper job vacated by All-SEC performer Hunter Rogers after the 2024 season.
