The Tennessee Vols are reportedly the team to beat for a four-star recruit that resides in the South Carolina Gamecocks' backyard.

On3's Steve Wiltfong likes the Vols' chances of landing 2025 four-star defensive back Onis Konanbanny, 6-foot-1/180 lbs from Columbia, SC.

Konanbanny, who is originally from France, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 30 cornerback in the nation and the No. 5 player in the state of South Carolina.

"Tennessee is the program to beat for Konanbanny," wrote Wiltfong on Friday .

LSU, North Carolina, and Utah are also in the mix for the four-star defensive back.

“Right now they’re (Tennessee) in the lead," said Konanbanny to On3 recently. "I really like them.”

According to Wiltfong, Konanbanny is "aiming to commit" sometime in August.

Tennessee currently has 17 players committed to its 2025 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 12 in the nation. Three of those commits are cornerbacks -- three-star cornerback Tre Poteat, three-star cornerback Tyler Redmond, and three-star cornerback Dylan Lewis.
